| Watch out for financial predators | | Pub Date: Thu, 07 Aug 2008 10:00:00 EST | | |
As if homeowners struggling with debt and at the threat of foreclosure don’t have enough to deal with, they still have to watch their backs for financial predators. With financial problems on their plate, predators see suffering homeowners as vulnerable and often use the opportunity to take advantage of them. There are different ways in which financial predators operate, much like there are different ways in which mortgage predators operate, and essentially they could fall under the same category. Financial predators will often make empty promises to solve the homeowners’ debt problems and they may even gain enough trust from the homeowners to convince them to make the mortgage payment through them, which of course never gets to the lender. There are foreclosure prevention centers throughout the country that can help homeowners from making these mistakes and trusting the wrong company. If you or someone you know are in a similar situation, contact your local foreclosure prevention center first before you trust a company to help you keep your home. |

| The State of Alaska is located in the extreme northwest portion of the North American continent. It is the largest U.S. state by area (by a substantial margin), and one of the wealthiest and most racially diverse. Alaska has more coastline then all the other US states combined. It is the only non-contiguous state in North America; about 500 miles (800 km) of Canadian territory separate Alaska from Washington State. Alaska is thus an exclave of the United States, part of the continental U.S. but is not part of the contiguous U.S. |
